The idea for Bairisch-Irish came originally from Timmy as he is a big fan of Bavarian music. A few years ago a friend of mine Christian Maier from the band daHuawadameierundi stood in at one of our shows for a few songs with our guest singer Elisabeth Meier (is every second person in Bavaria called Ma(e)ier?) Anyway that evening the saying “there’s no great difference between B’irish and Irish - just a B,” came into being. That was the beginning. One year later we decided to try and mix the two musical traditions and on that first night, without any real practice session or dress rehearsal, we surprised even ourselves!

We’ve done a number of shows with the lads, which have been really fantastic. We’d like to thank them and their agent Holger from Südpol Music for all their efforts. Next year we want to get the lads back to Ireland again for a small tour - so fingers crossed that the Gods look down in our favour.

Below is a small mp3 sample of the Bairish-Irish experience!
